Sekolah Kebangsaan Seberang Dungun opened in 1942 with 20 students and a rakyat teacher. The area of the school is 4,007 hectares or 10 acres. At that time, the school building was just a wooden shed with a nipah roof. In 1968, the school building was replaced with two new buildings that housed 8 classrooms. In 1976, a permanent building (stone) was built with a capacity of 6 classrooms and 3 rooms which were modified into a resource center room, an office room and a teacher's room.
